Hot on the heels of the first poster, Sony Pictures has released the first three minute length(!) trailer for the highly anticipated adaptation of Andy Weir’s best selling novel Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling. But be warned – the trailer (in my opinion) gives away quite a few major plot points from the book – you’ve been warned!
From the author behind The Martian, the upcoming sci-fi film follows science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), as he wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there.
Just like Dr. Mark Watney, Ryland Grace finds himself stuck in space, as he finally remembers why he was there in the first place – solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out.
However, he soon finds out he’s not alone up there, and an endearing and unexpected friendship blossoms as he attempts to uncover a miracle.
Directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (The Spiderverse trilogy), the film stars Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub.
