The long-awaited rumour has been confirmed; Tom Welling is set to reprise his role as the Smallville Clark Kent in the giant Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths” – and boy we’re excited!
Welling will be joining an already impressive Man of Steel lineup consisting of Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh’s incarnations of the character. Obviously details have been kept closely wrapped regarding how he’ll fit into the five-part behemoth story, but we do know that we’ll find out what this Clark has been up to in the last eight year since we last him finally don the iconic cape and tights to face Darkseid and his Apokolips army.
EP Marc Guggenheim commented: “For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”
So excited. Tom is incredible. Bringing back his Clark is something we always wanted to do for Crisis. https://t.co/PnDGNWjN32
