Thor goes on a journey of self-discovery in the first ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ trailer

The long-awaited trailer and poster is FINALLY here for Thor: Love and Thunder, with the Asgardian God riding in on a wave of goats, Guns N’ Roses and inner peace as he surprisingly looks to leave his axe Stormbreaker behind for a journey of self-discovery and reflection.

Included in the Easter treat is a glimpse of the change in dynamic with the Guardians of the Galaxy, as Thor appears to part ways with the ragtag bunch with Korg in tow. However, his brief retirement appears to be interrupted – presumably by villainous galactic killer, Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale).

To combat him, Thor also enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. He also appears to visit some of the Gods, with a brief flash of Zeus’ lightning bolt. Together, they embark upon a cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in cinemas July 8, 2022.
