Christopher Nolan is back with a bang with the online debut of the first teaser trailer for historical drama Oppenheimer, following the theatrical debut earlier with Nope and Where the Crawdads Sing.
Featuring a countdown to the very second of the film’s release – along with a countdown to destruction – the sparse, predominantly black and white footage follows Cillian Murphy as American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
Cut with fiery footage of burning ashes and flame, the trailer indicates a brooding character study of the “father of the atomic bomb”, teasing that the world will forever change.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek plus many more.
The film is set for release in cinemas 21 July 2023.
