Disney continues to reimagine their classic animated library with live-action adaptations, and their latest production has wrapped according to the star.
Halle Bailey has taken to Twitter to share the news that the Rob Marshall production has come to a close, also sharing a brand new official image of her as the iconic Disney princess, Ariel – which is the best look we’ve seen yet.
“and just like that..that’s a wrap after auditioning for this film when i was 18 just about to turn 19 , to now finishing filming through a pandemic when i turned 21 ..we have finally made it… feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory..“
The Little Mermaid will feature the original music by Alan Menken in addition to four new songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who previously worked with director Rob Marshall on Mary Poppins Returns.
Directed by Rob Marshall, The Little Mermaid stars Halle Bailey, Jonah-Hauer King as Prince Eric, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton and Awkwafina as Scuttle.
