The CW orders Batwoman pilot starring Ruby Rose

After making her debut in the three part Arrowverse crossover ‘Elseworlds’, Orange is the New Black‘s Ruby Rose is set to play Batwoman as the CW has green lit a series pilot with David Nutter (Game of Thrones, Arrow and The Flash) attached to direct.

The pilot will be written by Caroline Dries and produced by Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions, the CW, Berlanti Prods. and WBTV will be hoping to replicate their success with the other DC Arrowverse shows.

And here’s the official synopsis via Deadline: In the CW’s drama based on the DC characters, she’s armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

If the pilot is successful and picked up by the CW, the show will join the existing roster of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lightning! Are you excited for a new Batwoman series starring Ruby Rose? Let us know in the comments below.
