Well it’s official, the CW series Supergirl will be concluding with the upcoming sixth and final season when it returns to our screens in 2021.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the final season of the Arrowverse show will consist of 20 episodes, with production set to begin in Vancouver this month.
The cast took to social media to express their thanks for working on the female-led superhero show, which has taken great steps to feature important stories portraying LGBTQ+ and diversity equality.
To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement. Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless.

With lead star Melissa Benoist expecting her first child and upcoming series Superman and Lois in the works, this wasn’t a huge surprise.
The latest superhero series to join the CW’s roster will focus on post-crisis Lois and Clarke, along with their two teenage twin sons. The family have moved back to Smallvile in an attempt to juggle a work and home life balance. During DC Fandome, a new suit was also announced for Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman.
As Benoist’s Kara Zor-El is Clark’s cousin, this could potentially lead to a number of future cameos in the series. It is yet to be confirmed whether David Harewood’s Martian Manhunter will be joining the Justice League, teased in the latest crossover.
The sixth and final season of Supergirl airs on the CW in 2021.
