Sony releases second trailer for superhero horror film ‘Brightburn’

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released a brand new trailer for dark superhero horror film Brightburn. The film stars Elizabeth Banks and David Denman as they discover the terrifying truth about their adopted alien son, which pretty much asks the question – what happens if Superman wasn’t on our side?

The film is based on an idea that James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) co-created with his brother Brian and cousin Mark, and the footage in the trailer very much replicates the visionary style of Zak Snyder. The trailer starts off pretty much like your standard superhero origin tale, but quickly takes a turn as Jackson A. Dunn’s Brandon Breyer/Brightburn quickly embraces his darker side…

Check out the trailer below!

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.

Brightburn is directed by David Yarovesky and stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner.

Brightburn is released in May 2019.
