Ever since Robert Downey Jnr left the role of Tony Stark at the emotional end of Avengers: Endgame, the main question over who will pick up the Iron Man mantel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was raised.
Well during The Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day, Marvel President Kevin officially announced an exciting brand new series coming to Disney+ — Ironheart!
This confirms that comic book character Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man, will be picking up the baton.
The character was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato back in 2015, making her first cameo appearance in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 #7 (May 2016) and full appearance in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 #9 (July 2016).
Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams.
