Noah Hawley set to write and direct new Paramount ‘Star Trek’ film

Wow, well this was unexpected! Legion and Fargo director/showrunner Noah Hawley has been reportedly picked by Paramount Pictures to helm the long awaited fourth Star Trek film in the Kelvin universe, as he is set to be on both writing and directing duties.

According to Deadline, the cast of the first three films are also set to return to the Enterprise, led by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban, which is surprising considering Chris Pine reportedly walked away from negotiations with the studio.

Noah Hawley is set to direct and write the project through his 26 Keys production banner and he’ll produce the film along with JJ Abrams and his Bad Robot banner.

Unsurprisingly, there’s yet to be any plot news on the next mission in the Star Trek film franchise, as well as no news on the Quentin Tarantino spinoff project.
