The bonkers Nic Cage festival hit Prisoners of the Ghostland finally has a release date and a new trailer, directed by Japanese helmer Sion Sono, on his English language debut.
The post-apocalyptic film is very much in the vein of Mad Max/Escape From New York, with Nic Cage as a thief playing a man on a mission, released from jail to assist warlord The Governor (Bill Moseley). He must set and find his missing adopted granddaughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella), but he only has five days to find the young woman, or his suit will self destruct…
Following the film’s premiere at FrightFest and Fantasia film festival, it’ll be released in UK cinemas and on digital platforms on 17 September.
