New stills released from Amazon Prime Video’s comic book series ‘The Boys’

Amazon Prime Video has released a whole bunch of first look images at upcoming comic book adaptation The Boys, which stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid and Simon Pegg. The series is based on Preacher’s Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s best-selling comic, which ran from 2008-2012.

When Hughie (Jack Quaid) suffers a devastating loss at the hands of a reckless Supe his devastation turns to outrage when he discovers there is no legal recourse for victims of collateral superhero damage. While still reeling from his trauma Hughie meets a mysterious operative, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), who recruits him to join in his pursuit of some vigilante justice against the Supes—who are not exactly what they seem.

In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centres on a group of vigilantes known informally as “the boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.

The eight-episode Amazon Prime Video original series will debut on the streaming service on Friday 26th July.
