New ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ poster released, trailer coming this Sunday

Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released a stunning new poster for Godzilla: King of the Monsters ahead of the final trailer, which according to the film’s official Twitter account, is set to air during the second episode of Game of Thrones season 8.

In the meantime, we see our titular hero unleashing a gigantic atomic blast towards the sky, while various military boats and helicopters circle the giant beast.

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

The film was directed by Michael Dougherty and stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Oscar nominee David Strathairn and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai) and Golden Globe nominee Ziyi Zhang.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set for release in cinemas on the 31st May 2019.
