With the release of Captain Marvel just around the corner, Total Film have released a bunch of new stills from the film to celebrate their new issue which focuses on the latest instalment of the MCU.
The three new stills feature Brie Larson’s Danvers in an amazing 90s leather jacket and Nine Inch Nails T-shirt, as well as a Ben Mendelsohn as shapeshifting Skrull, Talos and a behind-the scenes photo of directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck on set with star Larson. Check them out below:
According to Total Film, Directors Boden and Fleck were attracted to Danvers’s “grit, determination, humour, her friendships with other women, her heart.
When we were first circling this movie, we got a great piece of advice from [Black Panther director] Ryan Coogler,” says Fleck. “He said, ‘It’s multi-years of your life. You better damn well like this character. And you better be telling a story you want to tell.’” Adds Boden, “There have been a lot of moments where we’ve been driven to sheer exhaustion. Just being able to be like, ‘Phew. We love this movie and we love this character’ has been really important.”
As well as the release of the new stills, Marvel has also unveiled two brand new posters for the film, one a new international poster and the other a fantastic poster from Odeon.
Captain Marvel is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee are the executive producers. The story is by Nicole Perlman and Joe Shrapnel & Anna Waterhouse, and the screenplay is by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer.
