“Ms Marvel”: Marvel looking for two more supporting characters

Following the release of the Wandavision trailer and casting news that Tatiana Maslany will be playing She-Hulk, it appears Marvel have turned their attention to the Ms Marvel series.

According to website Murphy’s Multidom, Marvel Studios has sent out a new casting call for two supporting characters in the Disney+ series.

Codenames are being used, but the descriptions allude to a pair of characters who comic fans will know as Kamala’s friend, Zoe Zimmer, and her eventual sister-in-law, Tyesha Hillman.

The studio is reportedly searching for a young white actress, aged 16-20, for Zoe and a Black actress, aged 27-33, for Tyesha.

In the comics, Zoe is a popular student at Coles Academic High School, and one of Kamala Khan’s (aka Ms Marvel) close friends. After breaking up with her athlete boyfriend, Zoe reveals that she has feelings for one of their close friends, Nakia. While Tyesha ends up marrying Kamala’s brother.

Jasjit Williams and Saagar Shaihk have so far been cast in undisclosed roles, while casting calls have gone out for Kamala’s brother and another of her friends. The lead role is still yet to be announced.

Production on Ms. Marvel is set to begin in November.
