Marvel Studios reportedly developing a Miss America series for Disney+

According to reports from The GWW, Marvel Studios is in the early stages of developing a Miss America series for the upcoming Disney+ streaming service, following the announcements of She Hulk, Moon Knight and Ms Marvel shows.

America Chavez aka Miss America was created by Joe Casey and Nick Dragotta and first appeared in the limited series Vengeance #1 (September 2011). The character then appeared in the 2013 Young Avengers series by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie and the 2015 series, A-Force, by G. Willow Wilson, Marguerite Bennett and Jorge Molina. The character also featured in the teamup Ultimates by Al Ewing and Kenneth Rocafort in October 2015.

The introduction of this character has hinted at the addition of either the Young Avengers or the Ultimates, which could be a game changer in the MCU. The Ultimates team consists of Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Spectrum and Blue Marvel who protect the Earth against cosmic threats – which the MCU is heading towards with phase 4. The Young Avengers could also neatly tie together a lot of the characters introduced in the Disney+ streaming service, including Katherine Bishop aka the new Hawkeye.

Disney+ is set to officially launch on November 12th in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the Netherlands.
