Idris Elba is finally returning to his former roots as the iconic British detective in the upcoming film spinoff Luther: The Fallen Sun. And Netflix has finally announced the release date!
Written and produced by show creator Neil Cross, the film is directed by season five helmer Jamie Payne, and finds detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sitting behind bars.
Haunted by his failure to capture a cyber psychopath (also a gruesome serial killer) who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job “by any means necessary”. That never ends well!
The film is set for release in select cinemas on 24th February and on Netflix from 10th March.
