Following a long hiatus on Marvel Studios projects, there appears to be a real push to get production resuming on the upcoming Disney+ shows. Following Ms Marvel and She-Hulk casting, along with the release of the Wandavision trailer, it appears Loki is the next series to begin filming again.
Speaking with Forbes about Misbehaviour and the Disney+ series, Loki star Gugu Mbatha-Raw has confirmed that filming has resumed in Atlanta, Georgia.
“I was in the middle of filming when the pandemic happened, so I had a real break, ” did this time give Mbatha-Raw a chance to catch up on the MCU back catalogue? “I’d already watched a lot of them. I got Disney+ when I got the job, so I binged a lot of it then.”
When asked directly about the show, Mbatha-Raw admitted she can’t really say too much, but confirmed filming was underway:
“I’m obviously sworn to secrecy about everything to do with Loki, but it feels great to be back. Everyone is trying to do it as safely as possible under the circumstances, and it feels good. I’m excited. It’s a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see it.”
The actors role is still yet to be confirmed, but it’s good to hear her enthusiasm for the show, describing it as “fun”.
The upcoming Loki series will join the Marvel slate on Disney+ including Wandavision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If, Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight. With the big phase four MCU films now delayed, a concrete release date for the Loki series is yet to be confirmed.
