Amazon’s The Boys spinoff, which was first announced as in development back in September, adds two new cast members in the form of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alumna Jaz Sinclair and Bones allum Lizze Broadway.
According to Deadline, the two will both play young superheroes, with Sinclair cast as lead Marie and Broadway cast as Emma.
The as yet untitled spinoff is set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes, run by the shady Vought International. Described as an irreverent, R-rated show that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.
In addition to the two lead castings, the series is nearing a formal series greenlight. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, the studios behind the successful The Boys, will again be producing the series in association with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises and Original Film.
Craig Rosenberg is set to be the showrunner and executive producer, and he’s currently a writer and executive producer on The Boys. Eric Kripke will also executive produce via Kripke Enterprises along with The Boys executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver of Point Grey Pictures, Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty, Garth Ennis, and Darick Robertson.
Welcome to the family Jaz Sinclair! This news is really making us rethink the whole “fuck supes” thing https://t.co/OkfFmtTCzl
