‘Knives Out’ sequel officially announced by Lionsgate

This is what I’ve been looking forward to hearing since watching the whodunnit comedy – Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has officially announced that a sequel to Rian Johnson’s Knives Out has been greenlit!

According to Deadline, the CEO confirmed the news on Thursday during the company’s third-quarter earnings, as the film is nearing the $300 million mark.

Director Johnson has long been hinting that he’s working on a script for a follow up, potentially starring Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) as the lead.

“I had such a good time making it, such a great time working with Daniel, and now just seeing that audiences are responding to it, the idea of continuing it on seems like it would just be a blast,” the director told Deadline on Oscar nomination day. “But there’s a lot that has to happen before that can happen, first and foremost being writing a script. So, we’ll see.”

So who would you like to see star in the sequel? Let us know in the comments below!
