Kevin Feige confirms ‘The Fantastic Four’ are heading to the MCU

Rounding off The Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day presentation, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel’s first family will finally be joining the MCU.

Yep that’s right, Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Ben Grimm (The Thing) are getting rebooted once again, but this time in the Marvel Universe.

Feige also announced that Spider-Man Homecoming and Far From Home director Jon Watts is on board to direct the feature film.

Following Disney’s acquisition of Twentieth Century-Fox back in early 2019, the inclusion of the Fantastic Four, along with the X-Men, has been an exciting prospect for fans. Following numerous fan casts, speculation over their appearance was further fuelled in a potential easter egg in the closing scenes of Spiderman: Far From Home.

We last saw the family back in Josh Trank’s 2015 reboot which starred Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. Previous to that, Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis starred in two successful instalments back in 2005 and 2007.
