Delve back into Racoon City in new ‘Resident Evil’ trailer

Netflix has unveiled the brand new trailer for an upcoming eight episode scripted live action series inspired by Capcom’s massive Resident Evil franchise.

The streaming service has teased tell that the brand new story will unfold across two timelines – in one, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker move to New Raccoon City with their father. While in the second, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus.

Year 2036 – 14 years after Joy caused so much pain, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and mind-shattering creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.

Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) is on board as showrunner/writer and Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead, The Journey Is the Destination) will direct and executive produce the first two episodes. The series debuts on Netflix July 14th.
