Guardians of the Galaxy is a film known for wacky cosmic characters, take for example Rocket Racoon and Groot; one is a genetically engineered talking racoon and the other a sentient ‘flora colossus’ from Planet X, just your average film characters…But the rumoured villain in Vol.2 might just top the weird scale!
A new article suggests one of Marvel comics’ most unusual villains that only hardcore Marvelites will know, will be appearing in the Guardians sequel.
Possible spoilers below…
According to Geek.com, the Guardians will be going up against Ego the Living planet, yes that’s right, an actual planet. The villain is as weird as his title suggests, Ego was a regular planet until the cosmic being The Stranger appeared and decided to give the planet consciousness, the planet then began developing sentient attributes including organs and a brain. Ego then went on a search for identity and set off to conquer other planets, and that’s when Thor stepped in. In the comics Ego didn’t just come across Thor but has crossed paths with the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, and Galactus.
Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 lands in UK cinemas on April 28, 2017
