Streetwise demon hunter John Constantine swaggers onto FOX UK with the television premiere of Warner Bros. Television’s supernatural drama series Constantine. Based on the DC Comics character, Constantine will start on Tuesday 18th September at 9pm on FOX.
FOX will also be showing the original Keanu Reeves Constantine film from Warner Bros. Pictures will air on Monday 17th September at 9pm.
Shoshana Wilson, Director of Programming, Scheduling and Acquisitions at Fox Networks Group UK, commented: “Constantine is cool, creepy and compelling in equal measure with a brilliant British lead. As Lucifer concludes its second season on the channel, FOX fans will be delighted with this high-stakes supernatural drama based on the DC Comics character. We’re thrilled to be pairing the television series premiere with the original film Constantine starring Hollywood A-lister Keanu Reeves. Prepare to be immersed in Constantine’s fiery world of demons, angels and trapped souls.”
And here’s the synopsis:
John Constantine (Welsh actor Matt Ryan, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) is a man waging war against the forces of darkness. A self-proclaimed exorcist and master of the dark arts, this irreverent con-man doesn’t come down on the side of either good or evil…but might be the only thing defending us against dark forces from beyond.
In the series opener, Constantine has voluntarily checked himself into an asylum and sworn off investigating matters of the supernatural. But with dark forces gathering power in the world, he reluctantly resumes his old life – allying himself with Manny (Perrineau), a rogue warrior angel, and Chas (Halford), Constantine’s childhood protector and only friend who’s managed to stay alive. Now, the irreverent con man and occult expert takes on a rising darkness when an old friend’s daughter, Liv Aberdine (guest star Lucy Griffiths, Preacher) becomes the target of supernatural forces. Jeremy Davies (Justified) guest stars as Dr. Ritchie Simpson, a friend from John’s past who shares a dark secret.
