Marvel still hasn’t confirmed who Mikkelsen’s will be playing but the most popular theories is the character Dormammu, a mystical entity who is regarded as the most powerful and malevolent of “the Faltine,” fictional higher-dimensional mystical energy beings. Doctor Strange refers to Dormammu as his “most terrible foe” with the character first appearing in Strange Tales #126 (November 1964).
Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
The film is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer/Night Nurse, Benedict Wong as Wong and Mads Mikkelsen as an unspecified villain role.
