Spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2 ahead!
Following the amazing season 2 finale, many Boba Fett fans were surprised to see Disney confirming that the character will be getting his own series, The Book of Boba Fett, in the post-credits scene.
To further cement this news, The Mandalorian creator and producer Jon Favreau appeared on Good Morning America today to reveal the new logo and some exciting details.
Favreua confirmed that the series will be a spinoff show and will not be the basis of the third season of The Mandalorian. Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will both be reprising their roles from The Mandalorian, with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez involved in the project.
“We didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Kathleen Kennedy announcement of all the shows [during Investor Day earlier this month], so they let me keep this one a secret, “ Favreau confirmed. “So this is actually separate from The Mandalorian season 3.
But what we didn’t say in that announcement is the next show coming up — what Kathy called ‘the next chapter’ — is going to be The Book of Boba Fett and then we go into production right after that on The Mandalorian, back with the main character that we all know and love … pretty soon following that.”
