Deadpool 2 is getting an earlier release date

Everyone’s favourite merc with a mouth is coming to our screens earlier this year according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fox is bumping up the release date of the highly anticipated sequel, bringing it forward to two weeks from June 1 to May 18, just one week before Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The sequel’s release date is in prime film calendar territory, but the film faces tough competition with the likes of Sony’s Slender Man and the Star Wars prequel Solo: a Star Wars Story.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds took to twitter to celebrate the announcement by posting the following image from the set of the sequel, featuring his Golden Girls inspired swords, Bea and Arthur!

It seems that Fox is really shaking up their X-Men properties release dates, as both Gambit and New Mutants release dates have changed.

Deadpool 2 is set for release on the 18th May 2018 and will star Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Josh Brolin as Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Zazie Beetz as Domino.
