As Deadpool has become the highest grossing R-rated movie ever, Fox has officially announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that there will indeed be a Deadpool 2. Ryan Reynolds will be reteaming with director Tim Miller and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick for the sequel – hoorah!
But who will feature in the sequel? As teased in the post credits scene, “Oh! I can tell you one thing, and it’s a bit of a secret. The sequel? We’re gonna have Cable. Amazing character. Bionic arm, time travel! We have no idea who we’re going to cast yet, but it could be anyone. Just need a big guy with a flat top. Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Kiera Knightly? She’s got range – who knows? Big secret, shhh.” Cable will surely be making an appearance, but just who will be playing the time travelling mutant? Some of the top picks include Stephen Lang (who has made it his mission on social media!), Liam Neeson, Kurt Russell, and Ron Perlman.

Hopefully my personal favourite character of the film Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) will return, as well as Weasel (T.J. Miller) and perhaps some more X-Men characters. But I would absolutely love it if Spider-Man could make an appearance, as the two Marvel characters currently have their own awesome comic book series. Director Tim Miller and producer Simon Kinberg were recently asked by SuperHeroHype at Fox’s Deadpool Blu-ray release whether the team up could ever happen, with Kinberg answering “I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin [Feige], we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it.” Fingers crossed ey?!
