Captain America 3 Made Holland “10 Times More Excited” for “Spider-Man”

As if we didn’t need any more encouragement to be excited about Marvel’s upcoming Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland has revealed his experience working on the film made him “10 times more excited to start on Spider-Man”!

Holland was announced to be playing Spider-Man earlier in June this year, with his first appearance as the web slinger in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Holland will then star in his own as-yet-untitled Spider-Man film due for release in 2017.

In a recent interview with The Belfast Times, Holland has been talking about making his debut in Civil War:

Civil War will be a brilliant movie, a huge movie and I’ll have the support of the success of that movie so that I can go on to my own. It was also a real eye-opener to what it will be like when I start my film. I think the problem with Civil War for me was that it made me 10 times more excited to start on Spider-Man, but we don’t start for months so I’ve got to sit on that excitement for the moment.”

When asked about the big casting he replied, “It doesn’t feel real to me, but my life hasn’t changed. I wear nicer clothes occasionally now, but that’s about it. I’m taking every day as it comes and there’s very little preparation that you can do apart from making sure you remain grounded and keep the people that are close to you close and my main goal at the moment is to make sure my work doesn’t fall below a certain calibre.”

Captain America: Civil War is set for UK release in April 2016 and stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jnr, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Sebastian Stan and Tom Holland. Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo return from Captain America: Winter Soldier to direct.
