A new droid sidekick, a mission to steal the Death Star plans and…Canary Wharf?!
The first trailer has dropped for the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and it’s something to definitely get excited about! While there’s not much in the way of plot details, we do however get our first feel of Felicity Jones’ rebel Jyn Erso, a glimpse of Donnie Yen’s character kicking some storm trooper butt and an intriguing look at Forest Whitaker’s armoured character.
Check out the trailer below.
Following the release of the trailer yesterday, eagle eyed fans have already spotted that one of the scenes was filmed in Canary Wharf tube station, check out the side by side comparison below!

Some other spots include the return of rebel general Mon Mothma first seen in Return of the Jedi, some black-armoured stormtroopers, the return of GNK power droid (or Gonk droid) the walking rubbish droid who has popped up in most of the Star Wars films and another interesting theory; is Jyn Erso Ray’s mother? They are certainly very similar in appearance and character, but does the timing work?
Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to open in UK and US cinemas on December 16, 2016.
