A solo Black Widow film has high on Marvel film fans wishlist for a long time, but now Marvel are reportedly moving ahead with the highly anticipated standalone film as according to Variety, they have chosen Jac Schaeffer to pen the script.
According to the website, Marvel President Kevin Feige has met with several candidates to write the film, and Marvel execs met with Johansson to discuss what they wanted from a “Black Widow” writer. Variety went on to report that the project is still in early development, as the film has no greenlight, but naming a writer is the closest the studio has come to moving forward on a standalone pic.
Schaeffer is most well known for TiMER, Mr. Stache, and Nasty Women. Her script for The Shower caught the attention of Anne Hathaway and she was so impressed with, she attached herself to the project, so we’re pretty excited!
